INTRODUCTION:
Getting education is the basic right of every person. Civilized
society tends to provide education for all without the difference
of cast and color. Islam put its stress for getting education from
cradle till death. Pakistan is an underdeveloped country with lot
of problems in the field of health and education. The financial
resources allocated for education is very low. Following is the
comparative study to look at the allocations being made for education
in the countries in the region.

Each year thousands of competent students can not
join their respective field of interest due to lack of financial
resources.
HISTORY:
Keeping in view the problems of competent and deserving students
in getting desired level of study from the quality educational institutions,
the education department of MAWA in year 2004 offered scholarships
at various places of Pakistan specifically in Punjab with the collaboration
of Noor-ul-Hadda Trust (an organization for the promotion of Islamic
education, culture and welfare). The project was further shifted
completely to MAWA by Noor-ul-Hudda Trust due to its hard work,
professional approach and commitment with the cause. The total scholarship
dispersed at that time was: 12,20,934/= for 139 students.
The education department extended its work more deliberately after
the 8th October 2005 Earthquake in Muzafarabad and Bagh. The education
department provided the financial assistance to Around 28 Students
for complete 1 year with boarding facility in Islamabad.
Later Scholarships for the year 2007-2008 was declared and then
dispersed in the following pattern:

CURRENT
CASES:
Currently MAWA is providing Scholarships for the Students of MBBS
only. Currently 11 Cases are selected for their financial support.
The scholarships are given under the head of Tuition Fee, Hostel
Fee, Mess Charges (Monthly) etc.
Total amount of Rs. 197.600 has been dispersed among them for the
above mentioned heads. The students belong to Northern Areas, DI Khan,
Parachinar, Kohat and Kashmir.
The medical colleges selected for these services are:
• Ayub Medical College, Abbotabad.
• King Edward Medical College, Lahore.
• Fatima Jinnah Medical College, Lahore.
• Chandka Medical College, Sindh.
• Qaid e Azam Medical College, Bahawalpur.
FOCUS
OF PROGRAMS:
The Focus of Program will be the mid-class and poor peoples/areas
specifically rural areas, especially those who can not get quality
education due to lack of financial resources.
