YEAR
2002
Inspired by the Islamic culture of serving humanity, a little group
of peoples has started social activities by arranging free medical
camps in rural and deprived areas of Rawalpindi Division. The very
first medical camp was arranged in a village “Murid”
of district Chakwal in year 2002. A number of needy patients were
treated with free medicines by expert doctors at this camp. The
continuity and success in arranging such medical camps has boosted
the spirit of MAWA members in progressing rapidly.
YEAR
2003
In the mid of year 2003 “MAWA” launched “Patient
Support Program” to help the deserving and poor peoples both
financially and by providing reference in hospitals for their medical
treatment. These peoples normally came from various villages where
our team has arranged medical camps.
YEAR
2004
Due to our hard work, professional approach and commitment with
the cause, Noor-ul-Hadda Trust (an organization for the promotion
of Islamic education, culture and welfare) has shifted their educational
scholarship program to “MAWA” in year 2004. This enabled
us to extend our services by opening education department of MAWA.
YEAR
2005
8th October, 2005 was an unforgettable day in the history of Pakistan,
when a terrible earthquake has swallowed the life of thousand peoples
and million of them were effected. Muhammad Ali Welfare Association
worked in close liaison with other community organization for relief
operation and has got the praises, trust and support of peoples
locally, nationally and internationally. We served effectees with
basic relief, medicines support, rehabilitation, educational support,
student’s hostels, small loans and reconstruction programs.
YEAR
2006
Looking to the growing load of work for the services of humanity,
MAWA decided to open its secretariat in year 2006 at Islamabad.
Experienced and dedicated professionals were hired for providing
quality services through MAWA. The organization was also registered
in the same year with federal territory and whole assets were shifted
to the organization.
In
order to promote coordination and cooperation among community welfare
organization, a survey was conducted in NWFP, Northern Areas, Kashmir
and Rawalpindi/Islamabad by MAWA. As a result two successful conferences
(one in Islamabad and other in usterzai-payan, Kohat) were held
with the participation of some 44 welfare organizations.
YEAR
2007
MAWA has established its first Medical Center” Al-Mustafa(A.S)
Medical Center” in a village Narra of District Attock, Rawalpindi.
Blood Donation Camps were arranged in central procession of Muharram
and Safar-al-Muzafar for collecting blood bags and
making donors for any emergency need. Scholarships to around 184
students were distributed.
Efforts
to support the effectees of Kurram Agency-Parachinar were made by
providing medicines and food. MAWA team has also visited Parachinar
during peace and has distributed amounts among effectees. After
the restart of war in April 2007 we kept on providing relief services
to the area.
YEAR
2008
MAWA has established its second Medical Center” Al-Murtaza(A.S)
Medical Center” at I-10/1 Islamabad. Free ambulance service
was also started for improving patient support services. The effectees
of DIKhan were provided family support, educational support and
medical support. MAWA’s educational department has adopted
some schools with the objective of improving their environment,
studies etc. |
